This vibrant Panamanian Pollera Congo dress is a handcrafted, multicolor traditional outfit made by skilled Panamanian artisans. It comes as a complete set with a blouse and flowing skirt, offered in multiple skirt lengths, and made from breathable polycotton for comfortable movement. Ideal for cultural festivals and special occasions, it’s easy to care for (hand-wash recommended, gentle machine wash acceptable) and celebrates Panama’s heritage in every stitch.
King & Queens Dance
This Dance is about a King asking the Queen for mercy. Congo culture is traditionally matriarchal, with the Queen as the central, powerful figure and the King as her protector and strategist.. Congo dance is heavily improvised with partners responding instinctively rather than following a fixed sequence.
Wave of the Sea (Santa Isabel Is Burning) - Dance
The “Wave of the Sea (Santa Isabel Is Burning)” dance is a Congo-style call-and-response piece that acts like a community cry: the lyrics say Santa Isabel “is burning” from lack of water, and the repeated “ola de la mar” chant feels like a plea for relief.
